With the introduction of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Version 9.0, there have been changes in the manner in which External Organizations are entered, tracked and queried (reported) on.   Among the changes to the new version of PeopleSoft were the locations of some of the fields in the underlying tables.  Most notable is that a number of fields were removed from the main table – EXT_ORG_TBL – and added to other tables, including newly created ones.

The page containing information about adding, searching for and otherwise working with External Organizations has been updated to reflect these modifications.  Among the documents available specifically regarding External Organization are these:

  • Search for an Organization
  • Marking Duplicate Organizations – Outline
  • Adding Organizations
  • OIS Office –
    • Adding Organization Group Type
    • Editing Organizations for Online Process
  • Querying with External Organization related tables

In addition, there are updated pages dealing with Search/Match and duplicate record reconciliation processes for individuals and organizations  on the  Duplicate Record (EmplID) Search and Reconciliation page, which includes Search/Match.

  • Search/Match under Campus Community
  • Duplicate Record Reconciliation – Details
  • Duplicate Record Reconciliation – Summary
  • pic14You will find updated documentation on configuring web browser settings to aid in your work with PeopleSoft by going to the Web Browsers and PeopleSoft page.

The instructions for using Query Viewer have been updated to reflect PeopleSoft Ver. 9.0, PeopleTools Ver. 8.52.  The document covers basic steps in viewing query output through Query Viewer and in how to run a query to Excel.

Since the implementation of SFIS to PeopleSoft Version 9.0, a list of Wesleyan Functions has been made available  for viewing from within PeopleSoft.  This is the list that formerly was available through STOWE, but is no longer there.  This list contains only Wesleyan Functions that contain the word “GET” and includes a number of Functions that have not yet been analyzed and listed on the SFIS Blog Wes Functions PDF.

In order to view these Wesleyan Functions in PeopleSoft, navigate as follows:

  • Main Menu > Wesleyan Menu > Campus Community > Database Function List.
  • This is a searchable list  that is sorted alphabetically and contains a brief description of each from a technical viewpoint.   (If this item does not appear on your PS menu, please send an email to cpike01@wesleyan.edu requesting access.)
