Website Updates

The HEUG.ORG website has been updated recently.  Here are some links to introduce you to the site’s features.  You can start by taking a guided tour of the website.

Product Area Communities:

The mission of each Community is to work closely with the users and Oracle/PeopleSoft to improve the related products used by institutions participating in the HEUG.   Each site is the users’ community headquarters for all things related to that community.

You can get involved by posting to the forums, downloading a file, staying up to date with the news stories, or reading the PAG’s (Product Area Group) Blog.

Here are some of the relevant forums,

  • What Is A WorkCenter In PeopleSoft And What Can It Do For You?
    • While the ability to create a WorkCenter in PeopleSoft has been around since PeopleTools version 8.51, it is still a feature that is new or unknown to many PeopleSoft schools and institutions. WorkCenters are portal tools that are delivered in PeopleSoft and allow you to utilize some great delivered functionality in a relatively simple fashion using mostly setup pages.
  • The Campus Community PAG is now on YouTube
    • The Campus Community PAG is announcing the creation of a new YouTube channel called HEUG CCPAG.

PAG – Student Financials Blog

  • Resources Available on HEUG.Online
    • Trying to get information on a particular business process?  Want to know more about existing functionality?  Want to tap into the expertise of your peers at other institutions?  Then you may want to go to www.heug.org and search the File Library which includes prior year Alliance presentations OR check out the Education Series Archive which contains archived webinars.  There is some great information available with just a quick download!
  • PeopleSoft Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO)
    • Recently Tina Thorstenson, HEUG VP of Technology, blogged about a new tool Oracle has provided to help you understand the benefits in upgrading and in installing new bundles.  This is a recap of her blog.  The PeopleSoft Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO) has been upgraded.  It is a great place to start as you build a business case for an enterprise system upgrade or even to see benefits in a particular bundle.  With this tool it’s easier to understand the features and enhancements your institution might be able to leverage in a new release.
