Introduction
As described in the Introduction to Service Indicator (Holds), a Service Indicator is a PeopleSoft tool which is used to provide or limit access to services for a student.
- Service Indicators consist of Service Impacts and Service Indicator Reasons that make each Service Indicator unique.
- Use Service Indicators to provide or limit access to services for an individual.
- Service Indicators can be holds that prevent an individual from receiving certain services or positive indicators that designate special services to be provided. Service Indicators consist of one or more impact values that identify the types of specific services that are restricted or provided.
- Note re: Positive and Negative Service Indicators: You cannot create a Positive Service Indicator that can cancel a Negative Service Indicator.

Troubleshooting Note:
If you are having difficulties accessing the Service Indicator pages, be sure that your User Defaults are up to date. The code “WSLYN” must be entered in a number of fields on the pages User Defaults 1 and User Defaults 2.
